Convicted on 10 counts of election fraud
“Hall said that he had resigned himself to that possibility after the Michigan Supreme Court, during this past summer, determined his case should be tried as a felony.”
“Hall was charged with election law fraud after forging signatures on petitions in a 2012 effort to get judicial candidate Chris Houghtaling on the ballot.”
Was convicted of stealing from a school fundraiser; resigned from Grand Haven school board
“Hall and Houghtaling crossed paths when they were both members of the Grand Haven school board. Hall resigned from the board in 2010 after being convicted of stealing from a school fundraiser — a misdemeanor.”
Went to trial where he could have faced 5 years in prison
“Donald Trump has made claim after claim calling the integrity of the election into question, but his Michigan campaign had no problem hiring a staff member facing election law charges,” Lonnie Scott, executive director of Progress Michigan, said following Hall’s conviction on Wednesday. “The fact that the Trump campaign and the Michigan Republican Party embraced Brandon Hall is just one more reason to recount and audit the vote in Michigan.”
Hall’s sentencing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27. He faces up to five years in prison.”

Used different colored pens and copied signatures from a 2010 petition to make it look like he gathered enough signatures to get on the ballot
“Both the Attorney General and the defense say that Hall and a friend used different colored pens and copied signatures from a 2010 petition in order to make it look as if they had gathered enough names. During his testimony, Hall said that Houghtaling told him he didn’t care how he obtained the necessary signatures.”
Received campaign finance complaint from Michigan elections bureau

“With economic and financial matters in mind, and a desire to encourage Republicans and conservatives to support LGBT issues, in 2007 I registered as a Republican.” – Kevin James
“I thought my membership in the Republican Party might change the minds of longstanding political foes to my community. As early as 2007, I spoke to Republican groups about why conservatives should support same-sex marriage and LGBTQ people in the military. I hope I was successful in recruiting allies in the Republican Party. Regardless, my time as a Republican is over.”
